hng i know the parallels of flint to silver what eleanor is to max and ik the cautionary tales of randal and mrs. mapleton but i keep thinking about israel hands and mrs. guthrie.... there's something there i just know it

#smth smth figments of the past smth smth horrific advice smth smth supposedly wellintentioned but antagonistic force pressuring them into #worse and more scared selves #when israel hands says 'and youre going to let him get away with it again' and when mrs guthrie drives max to say 'drown the fucking cat'#but the difference is that silver carries out what the devil on his shoulder says with wider reaching consequences #whereas max turns ms. guthrie's dehumanizing advice down and only deals w the loneliness and regret herself #also smth abt the fact they have opposite active plans AND opposite mental reactions #silver carries it out but still thinks he can salvage whats with flint. still holding on hope. whereas max turns it down but i rlly do think #she at least half meant it when she said drown the cat #augh. you know.#my post #black sails
